DRIVETRAIN
ENGINEERING
Drivetrain Team is responsible for 2 things:
-
Transmission of power from the engine, all the way to the wheels. This includes things like gearbox, differential, driveshafts, wheel hubs. The main aim for this year is to keep the unsprang mass as low as possible while improving the performance of the car.
-
Braking system so everything form brake discs to callipers, pedal box and master cylinders. The braking system needs a thorough rethink this year. We will try to implement more testing into the design process to make sure that both thermal and stopping performance of the braking system is up to scratch, while maintaining low mass.
Drivetrain is looking for motivated engineering students with good basic car mechanics knowledge and willingness to learn and improve. CAD knowledge (Solidworks preferably).
is always a big plus.
